Global Head of Research Insights — London
Cameron leads the research strategy on the team, as well as the commercial strategy behind Insights+. He has previous asset allocation and fund selection experience in public and private equity markets and has also worked on the sell-side as a research analyst. Cameron focuses on the global private equity and venture capital markets.
Angela Lai, CFA
VP, Head of APAC and Performance and Valuations — Singapore
Angela is an experienced VP on the Research Insights team, and covers the private investments industry in the Asia-Pacific region. She has over 15 years' experience in investment analysis and risk management across asset classes in public and private markets – specializing in the valuation of private equity and private debt assets.
Colin Leopold
VP, Head of Production — London
Colin has more than 15 years’ experience producing and editing research and analysis on private markets. His career started as a journalist covering infrastructure and private debt, at companies including Reuters and Acuris/ION Analytics, before moving into private equity and venture capital. At Preqin, he is responsible for managing the analysis and research reports written by the team.
Piotr Jelonek, PhD
VP, Data Scientist, Engineering — London
Piotr supports the team with advanced financial modeling, including our 5-year industry forecasts. With a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Applied Mathematics, Piotr has been a researcher in applied Bayesian methods in a central bank, part of an ECB team developing a methodology for short-term forecasts using large sets of low frequency data, a market risk associate at LSE, and a lecturer at Warwick University.
Victoria Chernykh, MBA
VP, Private Equity — London
Victoria specializes in private equity within the team. Her experience across different asset classes in private and public markets includes research, investor relations, and marketing of investment products. In 2015, Citywire recognized her as one of the top 25 wealth managers for fund selection and asset allocation. Victoria is skilled in public and private investor event communication and digital broadcasts. She holds an MBA from Bayes Business School.
Henry Lam, CFA, CAIA
VP, Real Estate — Hong Kong
Henry has over 10 years of experience in real estate investment, from property level to fund level. He joined Preqin with a background of property market research and more than 6 years of experience in real estate performance measurement. Henry holds both the CFA and CAIA designations.
Alex Oppong
VP, Infrastructure and Natural Resources — London
Alex is responsible for infrastructure and natural resources research coverage on the team. His research covers fundraising, deal-making and performance trends across energy and utilities, transport, and digital infrastructure. With 10 years’ experience in financial services, Alex previously worked as an Equity Research Analyst at Bank of America, covering global metals, mining, and steel. He has also held roles at Intertek Group, Citigroup, and the European Central Bank (ECB). Alex holds a master's degree in finance from the University of Cambridge.
Nicholas Mairone, CFA
VP, Private Credit and Regulation — New York
Nicholas leads our coverage of macroeconomic analysis and regulation. He has over 10 years of experience in financial research, and prior to joining Preqin he was Director of Research at the International Swaps & Derivatives Association. He graduated from American University in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science in Finance and is a current CFA Charterholder.
Brigid Connor, CFA, CAIA
VP, Fees and Terms — Dallas, TX
Brigid covers fees and terms in private markets. She has over 10 years of experience in due diligence, including roles in lower-middle market transaction advisory and fee validation, as well as at a real-estate-focused family office. Brigid earned master's degrees from the University of Chicago and Stanford University respectively.
Eric Mogilevskiy
VP, Private Wealth — New York
Eric leads our coverage of the private wealth space through client engagement and research around trends, emerging fund structures, and allocations from non-institutional LPs. He has over five years of experience within the alternative investments industry, and prior to joining Preqin he was a Private Markets Distribution Technical Specialist at Bank of America. Eric is an SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 holder and has earned the Private Markets and Alternative Investments Certificate from the CFA Institute. He is a finance graduate from Bentley University.
Michael Patterson, CFA
Associate, Venture Capital — New York
Michael leads our coverage of the venture capital industry through annual and quarterly updates. He was previously part of Preqin's Australasian institutional investor data team in Sydney. Michael is a CFA Chartholder and an applied finance graduate from Macquarie University.
Salik Ahmed
Associate, Private Capital — London
Salik is an analyst on the research insights team. He previously worked as an analyst for market intelligence and consultancy firms, with experience in researching and providing insights on both traditional and alternative asset classes, as well as across different investor channels. He has authored various market publications, with a focus on private equity, private debt and hedge funds. He has a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Exeter.
Gerard Minjoot
Associate, Deals — Singapore
Gerard leads our coverage of deal flow analysis and publishes our quarterly deal flow monitor report. He has over eight years of experience in the finance industry, with three years as an investment strategy analyst for one of the largest local wealth management firms providing research, due diligence, and portfolio management on retail mutual funds. He holds a BBS in Finance from the University College of Dublin (UCD).

Nicole leads the global Content team, spanning the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific, from Preqin’s headquarters in London. A former financial journalist, Nicole began her career as the Sander Thoenes Fellow at the Financial Times and was a private equity journalist at Dow Jones Newswires. She taught writing at George Washington University in Washington DC and ran Vodafone UK’s Media Center before joining Preqin. Nicole read English and American Literature at Harvard University and holds a second BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
Grant Murgatroyd
Head of News — London
Grant is an award-winning journalist and editor. At Preqin he writes about private capital, with a focus on Europe. He started focusing on private equity at Financial News in 1998 and has launched and edited a number of alternative assets publications, including Real Deals, Corporate Financier, and Limited Partner. Grant has a BA in Geography from the University of Nottingham.
Shaun Beaney

Shaun is the Editor of Preqin First Close, the essential daily newsletter for the global alternatives industry. His professional background is in research, public policy, communications, and editorial development, across private equity, venture capital, innovation investment, and corporate finance. He previously worked for ICAEW, BDO, and Real Deals magazine.
David Dawkins

David Dawkins joined the content team in summer 2023. Based in London, David brings 10 years' experience in journalism and communications, having worked at Forbes and UBS. David is the GP segment lead and is responsible for the quarterly GP Primer report covering fundraising, deals, and valuations.

Jayda is the assistant editor of Preqin First Close, the essential daily newsletter for all things alternatives. Before Preqin she worked as a research analyst at Chambers and Partners, as well as a freelance journalist for a range of digital publications. Jayda has a BA in Philosophy from the University of Nottingham and MA in International Journalism from City University London.

Libby oversees all things related to the content calendar, and edits Preqin’s digital content. Libby manages the weekly Insights+ newsletter and is part of the core team producing Preqin First Close. Her experience spans academic writing/publishing and film criticism, having graduated from Royal Holloway with a bachelor’s degree in Literature and Film Studies and a Master of Research degree in Media Arts.
Valerie Kor
Financial Writer, Senior Associate — Singapore
Valerie covers Asia-Pacific's private capital markets, leveraging Preqin data to produce articles and research reports targeted at fund managers, investors, and consultants. Before joining Preqin, she worked for publications specializing in property and personal finance. She holds a BSS in Political Science from the National University of Singapore.

As a Senior Writer for APAC, Harsha leads the APAC Content team. Harsha previously led investor communications and relations at Golden Horse, a quant-focused global macro fund, and was a key member of the founding investor relations team at Lighthouse Canton, a billion-dollar asset management firm.
