Based Madrid, Spain, and founded in 2006 by Meinrad Spenger and Christian Solli Nyborg, Masmovil Ibercom, S. A. is a telecoms operator that engages in the provision of universal telecommunications services. The company established a continued expansion policy through acquisitions and was eventually listed on the Spanish alternative stock exchange (MAB) in March 2012.
It established the Masmovil Group in 2014 when it joined forces with several telecom operators and continued its expansion through acquisitions. The group eventually became 100% private after the takeover bid launched by the Cinven, KKR, and Providence funds in 2020. A. offers fixed, mobile, and internet telephony services to residential customers, companies, and operators, through its main brands: Yoigo, MASMOVIL, Pepephone, Llamaya, Lebara, Lycamobile and Hits Mobile. The company is able to provide fixed fiber, ADSL, 3G, and 4G connections by having its own mobile network infrastructures. In March 2021, Masmovil Ibercom, S.
A. intends to fully acquire Euskaltel, an electronic communications operator, for EUR 1. 99 billion.
