About

Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) was founded as the Wyoming State Teacher's Retirement Program. In 1953, the pension fund merged with the State Employees Retirement Program, and consolidated to form the present system. WRS is a defined benefit program for the public employees of Wyoming. The pension scheme covers public school district employees, university and community college staff, state and local government workers, and various other political subdivisions in the State.
